Support Our Gazan Students

Right Here in Manchester
Homes destroyed. Families torn apart. Lives put on pause.

That is the reality in Gaza.

Yet today, two of our brothers are here with us – in Manchester – having survived the unimaginable to pursue education as a lifeline to the future.

They arrived on scholarship, carrying nothing but resilience, determination, and faith.
But while tuition is covered, life is not.

Rent. Food. Safety. Stability.

In a cost-of-living crisis, with no family or safety net, they now have only one place to turn:

Us.

Their Story

In September 2025, two Gazan students arrived in the UK to begin their studies.

They left behind families, trauma, and a homeland under siege. They arrived carrying grief, responsibility, and the weight of representing a people who are still suffering.

They are here on scholarship, but everyday life remains a struggle. Rent, food, and basic stability are daily concerns in a city facing a cost-of-living crisis – without family, without a safety net.

One of the students is newly married. His wife remains in Gaza, separated by war and borders. Part of this fundraiser will go towards visa and legal costs to reunite them – as a step towards stability, dignity, and mercy.

These are not just students.

They are young men trying to study, survive, and build a future – while carrying everything they left behind.

Who They Are

They represent dignity. Resilience. And belief that knowledge still matters – even after everything.

A PhD Researcher

His work focuses on trauma and mental health in communities affected by war. Shaped by lived experience, his research is driven by one goal - to help people heal, recover, and rebuild after conflict, ensuring that suffering is not forgotten but transformed into care and understanding.

A Computer Science Student

He earned a scholarship to study Computer Science at the University of Manchester. Before the war, he was a teaching assistant at a university in Gaza, working towards his dream role at NVIDIA. He passed every stage of the recruitment process. Only the final interview remained.

Then the war began - shattering his plans and extinguishing the life he had built. Still, he refuses to let this opportunity slip away. They both believe that knowledge can heal, connect, and protect - and are determined to pursue this path, no matter the obstacles placed before them.

Why Your Support Matters

Your donation will directly help with:

Rent, food, and essential living costs

Visa and legal expenses, including efforts to reunite a husband and wife

Reducing financial stress, allowing them to focus on their studies

Stability, dignity, and safety during an incredibly difficult chapter of their lives

Every contribution - no matter how small - makes a real difference.

For two years, many of us asked:

“What can I do?”

Now Allah has placed the answer right in front of us.

“Whoever relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Resurrection.”
(Sahih Muslim 2699)
